Breathedge 2 Side Quests
Find Breathedge 2 side quests, starting locations, required parts, completion steps, achievement unlocks, and useful rewards in the current Early Access build.
On this page+
Complete the broken antenna and Attendant quests soon after restoring station power, because both remain near the starting train and the Attendant grants Physical Protection +2. Other current side activities reward exploration, environmental interactions, collectibles, and achievements. This page covers confirmed Early Access tasks without mixing planned roadmap systems into the playable quest list.
Repair the station-side antenna
Find the broken antenna to the left of the train platform. The repair requires two pieces of Antenna Debris: one floats beyond the antenna, and the other sits behind the station near an asteroid or large ice chunk. Collect both, return to the structure, and use the active repair point.
This is a compact orientation quest and should not require an extended oxygen route. If the tracker leads toward more distant pods and multiple antennas, you are following the main story chain instead. The dedicated Repair the Antenna guide distinguishes the two objectives.
Reassemble the Attendant
The Attendant platform is near the station, to the left from the main train area, and may be inactive until power is restored. Find the body below a nearby station platform, the head around the benches by the starting train, and the arm at the small metal bridge beside blue machinery and three orange balls. The arm resembles a tiny forearm and hand, so scan the platform edge slowly.
Return all three parts and complete the assembly interaction. The quest awards the Attendant achievement and Physical Protection +2, which is useful throughout later exploration. For exact landmark directions, use the Attendant parts walkthrough.
Achievement-linked optional tasks
Breathedge 2 includes side activities that appear as exploration or joke interactions rather than conventional journal quests. The Hacker achievement asks you to open the CAB DOOR on the Outskirts train with code 0861, rewarding a maximum-health bonus. Now That's a Snowman! requires warmth restoration, a repaired gas lamp, and nearby snowman parts.
Treat these as optional upgrades when they award a trait, not merely completion statistics. The achievement index groups all 39 current Steam entries and avoids hiding practical rewards. Dedicated pages explain Hacker and Now That's a Snowman! without requiring a full achievement sweep.
Exploration objectives
Optional locations around stations, wrecks, machinery, statues, toilets, and unusual props often contain resources, collectibles, or interaction achievements. Explore them after establishing a safe oxygen path from the train. A landmark is more useful when you can reliably return to it than when you merely touched it once under a warning alarm.
Carry Scrap and the Cutter when the area contains mixed salvage, but leave unrelated quest items in storage. Small interactive objects can blend into clutter, so stop moving and scan deliberately. The map guide links opening landmarks into short search routes.
When a side quest will not start
Finish the generator and pantograph sequence before assuming a frozen device is broken. Approach the intended interaction panel, inspect it, and wait for the objective text to update. Some tasks require a preceding conversation or discovery rather than accepting a marker from a traditional quest giver.
If a collected part does not register, compare its exact name with the tracker. Antenna Debris appears in more than one context, and a visually similar component may belong to a later story structure. Store unmatched items rather than discarding them until the corresponding objective appears.
Side-quest preparation
Begin with a repaired tool, enough oxygen for a round trip, one free inventory row, and a known return landmark. Side quests frequently ask you to carry several physical components back to one device. An inventory already filled with common salvage turns a short task into unnecessary repeat journeys.
Complete objectives close to the train before traveling to distant optional structures. This improves local navigation and collects permanent bonuses with low risk. It also reveals common material sources that support the next main-quest repair.
Spoiler policy and Early Access changes
The opening paragraph of each guide gives only the direct mechanical answer. Story consequences, character details, and later objective chains appear under clearly named sections. You can therefore solve a missing-part problem without reading the remainder of Chapter 1.
This side-quest list was verified on September 1, 2026. RedRuins Softworks plans more characters, quests, locations, and interactions throughout Early Access, while existing placement and rewards may change. A feature listed on the roadmap is not treated as a current quest until it appears in the playable build.
Side-quest completion checklist
Activate the object or conversation, confirm the tracker wording, and reserve enough inventory for every named part. Complete local station tasks before distant exploration, then verify both the journal state and any achievement or trait reward. Store unmatched components because similar antenna or machinery pieces may belong to a later objective.
After a patch, revisit the quest giver or device before following an older location. A changed trigger can make an unchanged part appear missing. Record the build date when reporting a problem so route changes can be separated from save-specific failures.
Decide when to take a detour
Take a side quest immediately when it stays on a known route, grants a permanent reward, and does not require materials reserved by the main objective. Postpone it when the marker lies beyond your safe oxygen range or the correct tool is not yet available. Returning prepared is faster than forcing an optional interaction under a warning alarm.
After completion, check whether the reward changes equipment planning or opens a nearby activity. A protection or health bonus can justify revising the next exploration route. Purely collectible tasks can wait until inventory and navigation are less constrained.
